was wondering what the casting number is on the 550 gas head..i bought a parts book but it doesnt show the casting number only the part number... i am looking for one for my tractor..thanks in advance

Now a question for you. do you have a serial number for your tractor? The early heads are different from the later heads. Do you have a head now and if so what is the problem with it.

have a 66 and was looking for the better flowing head for pulling..nothing super hogged out just stock is good enough..i have an intake manifold from a 550 and now need the head..i think mine is 14061 or something like that..and it is cracked..thanks for the help

I have put Super valves in 77 heads and I have never checked but I think I could maybe get a set of 550 valves in there, especially if I do not run a seat for the intake valves and there really is no need to. I used to use a cutter DCM had for their seat & guide machines. I guess the question I have is at what point to I want to have horse power and at what point do I want a lot of torque.
