I am getting ready to do a little repair work on my 880 diesel and need some advice. First of all, I took my leaky radiator to the shop and they can fix it for $80.00 but they do not know how long it will last. They said it is in pretty bad shape. The shop quoted me a price of $380.00 for a new one. Can you say sticker shock. Are their cheaper ones out there? Is the one for the super 88 the same? Where should I look? Where is a good place to get gaskets? I know for sure I need a pan, valve cover, and a timing cover gasket. I also need a governer shaft seal for the fuel pump. I also need a steering wheel and center cap for it. I am planning on painting it and think in order to get a good job I should pull the engine. I am definitly going to have a whole lot more money in this thing than I intended on. But being a diesel with wide front, power steering, power booster, and power traction hitch it should at least be worth $3000.00 when I am done right? Thanks Jake

I'd say call Obrien Co. Imp. at 800-320-6224. They can help and they're reasonable. Good luck!

Jake. I can get you a new rad for your 880 for 250.00 Let me know if your interested. Same rad as 88 only the neck is taller in order to come up through the hood. If you have a good 88 super 88 rad, you could get by changing the neck, which isent a real big job

most diesel engines run warmer than gas or propane so the radiator has more fins per inch than the gas or propane..i know this isnt that big of a deal if he doesnt work it in the field but for someone who does they should know there is a diffence

Are you serious? It should be worth about that much before you do all that work. Obviously it will be worth more when you are done. Depending how good of work you do.
