My 66's Pto scrapes like an old truck transmission. I have to ease on it until it starts to scrape. I hold it there until the brushhog picks up speed. Then I can finish shifting the PTO. What is wrong? From my diagram, there shouldn't be any scraping. The clutch disc should slip if anything. Thanks from the Eastern Shore

If you have a lot of slop in the arm that engages the PTO, the brass bearing on the PTO hub inside of the cover where the arm is may be worn out along with the hub possibly. Pull the cover off, there are 4 bolts that are on the bottom just above the PTO shaft and push the lever forward until it comes off. Check to see what parts are showing wear from the scraping.
It is very easy to work on.
The other possibility is a worn bearing but pull the cover off first.
