I think Olivers made in the 50s had a + ground - does anyone know if the OC-12 crawler also does??? Looks like when some one tried to pressure wash this unit they took the model and serial # plate off the engine - can see where it was - can't find the numbers that are supposed to be on the block!!!

Maybe its your lucky day. I just checked on some crawler generator stuff this moning for a tech article on charging systems for an upcomming tech article for the HPOCA news letter. OC-12 crawlers are positive ground. Negative grounds became the in thing with alternators. In fact when the 50 series wheel tractors were being introduced in 1964, Oliver sent out a bulletin advising of the negative ground and it was because the goverment (that being me and you plus the restnof us US citizens) said that a negative ground was better or necessary. don't remember which of the 2 it was. I have a wiring diagram if you need a photo copy.
