I don't have an 880 manual handy, and the 880 I bought was missing the distributor. How does it connect? I assume the F wire from the generator goes to the F terminal on the distributor. Does the A terminal on the generator go to the L terminal on the distributor? What connects to the BAT terminal on the distributor? I have a hot 12V red lead coming from the switch that looks like it was connected in the vicinity of the old distributor. I have another yellow lead that seems to go to the light switch that also looks like it terminates in that vicinity.

I'd appreciate any help.

First off I think what you are calling distributor is your voltage regulator. You are correct on the "F" wire. The "A" wire on the generator goes to the "G" terminal on the regulator then to the AMP light on the dash (this is a purple wire). The red wire should come from the BAT terminal on your switch to the "B" terminal on the regulator. The yellow wire goes from the "L" terminal on the regulator to your light switch. Hope this helps

Is my face red! Of course I was talking about the voltage regulator. I don't know what I was dreaming of to call it the distributor.

I'll try these wires tomorrow and see if they agree with the markings on the voltage regulator.

If my memory is correct, the distributor only has one wire between it and the coil. Could you mean the voltage reg.? "L" term. on reg. is to light switch, "F" on gen. and reg. are connected. This is from memory so better check a second opinion, best of luck, Harry D.
