Hi everyone,

I am in the greater Ann Arbor, MI area; about 45 min west of Detroit. I've been working on my lawn with my Oliver 550 and must have overloaded the bucket. My wheel tore right off the spindle, leaving me in a pretty bad state. Thankfully, it was nearly the end of the day. Tractor Supply can't get a wheel and I don't know of a dealer in these parts.

If anyone is within a reasonable distance (2-3 hrs, tops) of Ann Arbor or is near Toledo, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Flint, etc and has a good wheel they would part with, I would be eternally grateful.

Feel free to email me at [email protected] or call my cell at 313-304-3999.

Thanks.

Did the hub come off the spindle, or did the rim come apart? The reason I ask is because on our massey 285 the hub ripped off the spindle, and we had to replace the spindle because the threads were shot. Bearings aren't that hard, almost any dealer has or can get what you need. All you need to give them is a part #, found right on the bearing and race. Hard part is sometimes getting the race out if it needs to be replaced.

The rim pulled off the hub. My understanding of the parts on this tractor is that the spindle and the hub are one fixed part. So, might be a different situation.

If it's a 6-bolt rim, they are pretty much all a standard 6" bolt circle. the only differences are the offset, width and diameter. As long as it a replacement fits w/out interfering it will work. Someone should have a link to miller tire, or otherwise you should be able to find a rim locally. To your spindle/hub: The spindle is what the hub goes over, riding on 2 taper roller bearings, one bigger one on the inside, and one smaller one on the outside. They are held on with a castle nut w/ a cotter pin going through the nut and spindle.
They are one assembly, but they can be taken apart.

Thanks for their phone number and the proper spelling of their name. I know they are down the Toledo way. I was kind of hoping someone had a second had front wheel they didn't have use for. On top of wanting the replacement asap, I was hoping for a second hand unit.

Thank you.

Can't help you there but a lot of the older implements and front tractor wheels would interchange. You might try that if you have anything handy.

I have an Oliver 550 Diesel and have been told that Ford tractor front wheels will interchange with the Oliver 550.

That is really interesting. TSC had a Massey wheel hanging out and I dismissed it outright. But, if the bolt pattern works, I might be back in business, Thanks!

Also, thanks to the folks with other dealers and phone numbers. All good information.
