The clutch in a Super 55 is totally different than in a 66. In a 66 the PTO shaft is inside the clutch shaft so the spline on the clutch shaft has a good sized O. D. On the Super 55 the Clutch shaft is inside the PTO so spline size is like a conventional clutch. Remember clutches are rated in pound feet of torque not horsepower. So how fast are you turning the 66 and what is the horsepower? As RPM goes up torque goes down.

thanks for the reply..im not looking to really turn rpms as it will be a div 2 tractor maybe 1800 to 2000 i think thats what the 660's turned..am going 3 3/4 pistons with a 550 head and intake and carb and will probably have a cam ground...hoping to get about 40 to 50 hp..but dont know if this combo will produce that..had read where i could use a 550 crank and offset grind it to get more stroke but dont want to spend lots of money for a plastic trophy..just want to pull along with the wc allis's with the combine motors in them...in 3500 with all their hp if i get mine set right i think i can give them a fit...thanks again for any help

the 77 clutch won't work either it has the larger diameter like the 88. i have had no problems with my 66 clutch i'm not making over 35 horse though. the super 66 used a better pressure plate might even try putting 88 springs in the super pressure plate. let me know if you can't keep it hooked.

i pull at a club in northern ohio. we call it antique stock. i pull 2750,3000,and 3500. won all three classes for year end points. the tractor is set up nice and had alot of good luck. we have a 20% over rpm. 3 1/2 mph speed limit. 35 hp.(pto) for 2750&3000, 40 hp. for 3500.
