i got a sorta sqeakin and clunkin sound in my 770, aint sure exactly where its coming from, sounds like its in the rearend. it does it when i change the reverser from rev to forw. or vise versa, and when i let off the acclerator or accelerate from a stop, doesnt seem to do it when drive train is under load. replaced the lubricants in the drive train, didnt seem to effect the noise at all, any suggestions where to look for a prob?

Check the breaks and see if the housings are loose or if one of one side is draging. also if you pull of the side cover to the breaks you can try and move the shafts that the disk breaks set on up and down if it moves a lot the ring gear is loose. From what you discribe it sounds more or less like a break problem. Good luck

I have an 880 and encountered the same problem. I find that you may find bearing trouble, out of ajustment or worn out. Your tractor has the reverse o torc. You will have to remove the engine,reverser,hydrallics,pto and rear end cap. These tractors have two diff transmissions a spur gear or helical. You should have the helical.
My advice is check all bearings. You can check your ring and pinion by removing rearend cover and brake housing there should be no up and down movement. I still have a small chattering noise in mine, I hope to correct this winter.
