I found out some really sad and disturbing news from my local detroit dealer.. ever sence Penski sold his shares in the Series 60 to mercedes.. The sereis 60 has been replaced by that scrape pile MBE4000..the Series 2000 is the same as the series 50 detroit they use the same piston sleeve and rod they both are a failure detroti droped the 50 because of the balencing shaft bearing problem the mercedes picked it back up and used it in the series 2000... ALL!! mercedes have troubles with cranks, heads and gaskets, eletronics is a big one.. My detroit diesel dealer with had a 8V2000 and a 12V2000 told me it took 6 mounths to get parts for them... ALL 2 strokes still meet todays emissions becuase fo the high compression and the pressure that the fuel is injected at... the series 60,53,71,92,149 have the highest injection pressure out of cummins cat.. the realy disturbing news is that mercedes OR daimler chrysler thinks the 2 strokes and series 60 do not sell enough parts so they figure that there is no need to stoke parts... IT took detroit 3 weeks to get sleeves kits and bearings and a blower kit for a 3-71 because ever thing that they stock was thrown out.. nothing was sent back just heaved in the the big red bin...sad very sad... Most shops say your better off to get jober parts so you can get your machine back up and working faster.. but the down fall to this is you dont have that Detroit warrenty to back you up... All of this is caused from daimler chrysler Cat shut donw there truck engine line and onyl will produce industrial engines and cummins N14 wont meet imissions so they only have that big 600 left to hold then up the U.S government dumped the contract for cummins and left them hanging by a thread.... What is this world coming to???

I know guys that sware by them old 2 strokes the wont go near a cat or a cummins they will be heart broken to find this out...
