Mounting a 1610 loader on a 1650

I recently bought a 1610 loader to go on my 1650. Does the back of the frame run under the rear axle or should it but up against. The tractor has some kind of channel on it from the last loader that was on it that the frame would fit into except that the frame is too long to butt against the axle and meet the holes in the tractor frame. The guy I got the loader from had it on a 1600 and had the frame u bolted under the rear axle somehow. Would that way of mounting it put more stress on the tractor frame since it wouldn't do some of the pushing with the axle? Thanks
Pete

less stress hard sharp impacts are transmitted thru the clamps to the axle. this will flex a little bit helping with the shock load. if the loader frame lays against the axle it will not fit perfectly and transfer all the schock in concentrated points breading or cracking the housings.
mounted underneath clamped tight to axle and bolt to tub under engine spreads the forces out instead of concentrating in two small spots.

FWIW, our ole 770 has a 1610 loader on it and the frame mounts under the axle with a couple large ubolts. it has been that way for 30 odd years and nary a problem.
