Anybody know of a hardener that is compatible with AGCO Meadow Green paint from either NAPA or PPG?

Doesn't NAPA sell a hardener for their paint? I was just in the store last week looking for hardener for the other green and was told that they weren't sure how their hardener would mix with the factory paint they had bad experiences with that before so I didn't put hardener in that batch. A good quality automotive paint is sure hard to beat when it comes to endurance to the elements, but I've used paint called Van Sickle and the factory paints and have had good luck with both as long as you maintain them. Good luck.

I'd go with the Imron despite the price. It will look just as good 10 yrs. from now as it does the next day after you paint it.

If you are going to go to all the work to redo your tractor put a decent paint on it. We use Martin Seynor (NAPA) Cross Fire (economical line) paint and this is about twice the amount of Agco paint. There is an old saying that you get what you pay for. I really like to paint with cross fire and love the results.

What is wrong with AGCO paint? I am not posting this to be critical, but I am wondering if you have had some bad personal experiences, or have inside information that AGCO makes an inferior paint. I have heard that the paint is alright as long as you use a good quality hardener. I would have liked to use Imron but did not want to shell out $600.00 for materials.

There is nothing inherently wrong with the agco paint is is just you get what you pay for. I can not afford to spend the money for Imron but can buy the Cross Fire that has held up very well. But you do get what you pay for in this. Cross Fire about 80 dollars a gallon verse agco at 40.

if it where me i would just go get automotive pant acriylic enamale and paint tractor if you want it for show if not and it is a working tractor paint with agco most any straight enamal hardner will work, i know auto a e is more exspen. but it will shine twice as much and hold up a lot better to oil grease and gas

Kris, I work for a body shop and I am going to paint my oliver with the agco meadow green and will use there hardener. Just go to a good body shop near you and ask them where you can buy some of the good quality hardener that they use or they might sell you some of theirs. Any good grade of automotive paint will work just fine and the more the better.
