Can someone tell me the HP rating of the 1600 gas and diesel? Is there a web site that has this information?

I was referred to a book by Larry Gay, A guide to Hart-Parr, Oliver, and White Farm tractors, 1901 to 1996. It has all the Nebraska tractor test results for Olivers, serial numbers, and a history outlining general production. You can order one through the Floyd County Historical Society in Charles City, Iowa (where the factory was) or through a bookstore. ISBN: 0-929355-87-3 The White corporation gave all their manuals to the Museum and they can sell you an original or copied (if they are down to one) of any Oliver parts, service, or operators manual and their prices are lots lower than a lot of the tractor suppliers reprints. Mary Ann at the FCHS is a fantastic help. The 100 page 8x11 paperback is under $20

The 1600 gas had 56.50 HP from a 231, the 1600 Diesel has 57.95 HP. Diesel was twice the tractor that the gas was. Overall they are very good tractors.

Thanks for the answer! Do you know of a site that has the ratings for all the tractors?

Here's a couple places to try.

Tractor Tips.com I won't guaranty the accuracy of the specs or serial numbers, though.

Nebraska Tractor Tests
Scroll down and select the year of Mfg your looking at. This will bring up a PDF file. You will have to search this file for the tractor your interested in. ( This PDF file just lists the rated drawbar and PTO horse power. You'll have to order the publication for the full results.)

I saw your 1600 pictures on the Tales Board. Great looking tractor. Drool !!!!! ":^)
