How rare is a Cockshutt 70. People say it is a Oliver-built Cockshutt. What does that mean and does it make it worth more money?

That might depend on where you are located. From the early 1930's untill say 1948 Cockshutt was selling the Oliver built tractors in Canada. so you also have other models than the 70. In 1946 Cockshutt started to produce the Cockshutt 30, however some Oliver built tractors wer sold after that. Then in the fall of 1962 You again had Oliver built Cockshutt tractors. The society of ag engineers published a book about Cockshutt tractors a few years ago. It is a nice book. I t will explain a lot of this. serial numbers are mixed in with theOliver numbers so their is no accurate way of telling hom many model 70 tractor, of each brand were produced.

You got the spot! Bill Jackson ,his son John is two to the east corner farm. Cockshutt 70 same as oliver except for nose strip says cockshutt as does engine tag and oliver ground off rear of axle. No-one has a definate number of cockshutts made but I have heard 30 %. There are no cockshutt records and they tell me no indication has been found in oliver records.
