Jerry B, I have a service manual that has both constant and varible speed govenors. I have tried to e-mail some pages but they are not going through for some reason. Let me know what you're really looking for and I'll try to get that to you. WB.

Thanks for the pictures.

I recieved your email yesterday morning but it arrived 4 times. They were so large it was slowing everything down and I believe that is what you were having trouble with.

The pages you sent me were the same pages I have in my Series 53 Service manual.

I called the semi-local Oliver dealer and he told me that the parts for that engine are no longer availible. I then called a Detroit salvage yard and they told me to fax them the pictures of what I need and they would fix me up.

I was quoted a price of $150 for a governor and fuel control assembley complete. (no fuel pump) Does that sound like a good price? I have no way of knowing what is a good price and what is not.

Jery: Not to get in to "butt in" I have good friend who used to run a shop that catered to INDUSTRIAL two strokes and they have parts because they do some of this.He still works there but does other things. Get in contact with me on the HPOCA site and I can get you in contact with 2 Detroit Industrial dealers. I also did know where there was a rebuildable core out of a 1900.

Jerry, I'd say that does'nt sound too high, but I'm not up on Detroits. Sorry about the four times e-mail, I'm not too computer savy! The pictures I sent were the ones marked in the manual. This manual came from the Oliver dealer I used to work for so I assumed that it was the set-up used on the tractors. Let me know if I can help with more from the manual. Good luck, WB.
