I have an oliver 1850, 1967 model(Ithink) ,the two speed has begun to slip badly in direct, and has not worked at all in under drive for some time. Are parts available, or is there a way to lock the drive in direct? I do not need the two speed feature, since the tractor is used mostly to pull a 10' 3point shredder and some other light chores

The under drive sliping is caused by a bad sprage clulth. The direct side is slipping because of worn-out clulth disc pack. Yes this parts are available, but expensive. No you can not lock in the direct drive. You can remove the unit and install a straight shaft. I have the parts for both
