I'm going to look at a Cockshutt 540 thats for sale locally. I've been told the engine has been rebuilt, but the carb needs work. I have'nt seen it, but am told it is complete & in avg condition and will come with a 6ft mower & some extra rear wheels & one rear tire. Any idea what it should bring?

If is as you described and with equipment and good tires about $2000.00.These tractors are good
utilty tractors with live pto,but buyers still
do not want to give as much for them as they do for a 8n ford with out live pto.Beats me!

Thanks for the input. I went to look at it and it turned out to be quite a bit rougher in condition than the owner explained. It has not been started in over a year, but the engine is free and I think I could get it running again. However, the tach/guage assembly is a total loss. How hard would it be to find one of these.

There was a good condition 540 for sale at the 03 International Cockshutt show in Canada. It was priced at 4500.
