I have a Wico JEM 1348 magneto. I am told it fits an Oliver Tractor. What model? The mag. is a 4 cyl. clockwise rotation with a gear on the bottom. I has good spark. Impulses engage well.

I think I know the answer to your questions. Find me on HPOCA web page. I have a question for you first.

J. Schwiebert, I looked on the HPOCA Page and I did not see how to contact you. Can not you ask your question here. I am trying to find what this mag. fit where I might place it into someones hands who may need it. I am not looking to old someone up. It looks to be a good mag. The only one somewhat like it I have seen was on a Kohler Light Plant which used the same Walkashaw? engine as the 77 series. Of course that engine had a 6 cyl. mag. , but it looked much like this 4 cyl. on I have.

John Deere used a few, and many a Wico went on to Wisconsin engines plus a few Continentals.

In some cases the gear can be removed to engage slot drives.

You can get some idea from looking through this site and making some notes as to whether yours was likely a JD or a Wisconsin app.

They go by the Spec number which is usually an XH-###

This Wico Magneto sets in the engine like a distributor, NOT like the flang mounts used by early ALLIS, CASE, INTERNATIONAL OR JOHN DEERE. The only numbers on the tag are M/N JEM 1348 and a S/N 032272.

Most olivers have the drive gear on the oil pump not the distributor.I did see a Wico add showing this type of mag from about 1945 it said something like made to replace a distributor so you would not have to use a battery. It did not say what model it fit.
