Yea i'm a farmall man so i need all the help i can get :). any way...there is this old cockshutt,,,i think it is, half in the ground. what would an old shutt be worth and where would u find the s/n. thanks

As J Schwibert said it will be on top edge of frame rail almost directly below distributer. Just behind square hole in tub frame. If 30 it will say 30 space and 3 to 5 didgit #. If it is a 40 it will say 40 a space and a 3 to 5 digit #. Give me info and I can tell you year. Can you send me pictures and complete discription and I may be able to give you price. Were are you and is this tractor for sale. Irv

If your cousin is correct the serial number will be stamped in the left frame rail. The 30 is a four cylinder OHV Buda, the 40 is a six cylinder version of the 30 engine. 1946-through 1949 model 30's will also have the year of manufacture stamped on the rail also.

Im farmallmans cousin. This tractor is either a 30 or 40 nf. It is shedded in a 100 year old shed. No paint or decals, has been sitting for a long while as long as i remember. thanks

A Cockshutt 70 is an Oliver built machine - most of them prior to the timeframe Cockshutt started building their own tractors.
