While we are on the subject of gauges, does any one make a repo gauge with a Cockshutt script on the face? I have eleven tractors (Cockshutt & Co-op)with mostly original gauges but only one that has a script gauge. I assume it's an old dealer replacement??? Sure would be cool to have a set of repo script gauges!

For Tony Sha,
Did you say 11 Cockshutt and Co-ops? I just purchased my first Cockshutt 30. Man, I wish you were close by in FL. Hope to get it running this week. This Distriutor is all messed up and I just purchased one from Irv in PA. Sounds like a real decent guy. Real tolerent with all my learning questions. Have you converted any to 12V? Mine has a 12V alt and I am trying to decide if I should use a 12V coil or a 6V coil with the resistor. It guess it's no big thing, just preference.

Owning 11 Cockshutts (or any old tractor) is just a lack of good sense. I probably have 11 times the problems you have. But I love it, it keeps me out of the bars and I was a mechanic for 20 years so that helps. As far as the 6 or 12 volt thing, the voltage of the generator and the coil must be the same. Just remember, if the battery is neg. ground the coil must be neg. ground also. (coil grounds thru the points) I've talked to Irv too, He's a good guy. Good luck!

Thanks Tony,
Do you use any resisters between the Battter and Coil?
