Hello, I just traded for an Oliver 77 for me and a 60 std. for my son. I was wondering what inexpensive things can I do to each to pull in a stock antique class? What is the most I could safely bore each block? I'm new to olivers and know nothing about them. sorry. David

I was just trying to get a little more power out of the 6o for my son for his first puller. (he is 10)Does anyone know if a 66 motor will bolt up to a 60 bell housing? If so does anyone have a 66 motor lying around? Thanks for all of your help. David

they are both wet sleeve engines. the 77 they offer a 3 3/4" cylinder kit. not sure what is available for the 60, if the sleeves are made like the 3 5/16" 66 they are not very thick in the center. should take one out and measure before boreing. hope this helps. where are you located?

I am in GA. Is the 6o engine block and the 66 or 55 block the same?

no. the 60 is a waukasha 160series.the 66 & 55 are a waukasha 180 series. if you look under waukasha in the old engine bearing books they show the 160 series with the same crank forging# as the early 180 with 3 3/4" stoke as well as the 3 1/2" stroke that is in the oliver 60.

I do not care what that bearing book said. Those two blocks will not interchange crankshafts. The 180 (66) crank shaft has a longer distance between the center to center distance of the mains probably by 3/4 inch when compared to the 160 (60). If you want dimensions, wait until next week and I will try to post.

A 160 engine has 4.25 bore spacing and a 180 is 4.5.
