I just picked up a Case Hydraulic lift trailer plow. I am hoping to try it out in the spring. What do I need for the Breakaway couplings? My 66 has the type 2 hydralectrics with 2 fender mount cylinders and only the bracket for the remotes. I have an idea what I need from reading the manuals, but does anybody have the setup they want to get sell? Should I just buy new, rather than trying to find orig Oliver stuff? Any suggestions? I never had or used a tractor with remote hydraulics.
Thanks

When you say bracket what do you mean? If I recall correctly and I may not, the bracket to hold the quick couplers and provide a breakaway capability was fastened to another bracket mounted alongside the drawbar mounting bolts. This was a flat piece of steel and on the end there was a rod with a hole in it. You then took the bracket for the couplers and slipped it on the rod. The bracket for the couplers was basically in 2 pieces that bolted together over the couplers. If you don't have this piece you will ned to get it when you buy the quick couplers. this is what provides the breakaway capability. Without it you will tear up the hoses if by chance the plow comes unhitched. I know this is as clear as mud, but maybe someone else can explain it better.

Yes, all I have is the flat bracket with the piece of rod welded on the end, nothing else. So I will need all the rest of the parts, as well as the part that should be on the implement side of the lines.

Dan,
Unless you can find "good" original, I'd go buy 2 new couplers and tips. Spend a little more and buy the couplers that you can connect under pressure. It really helps on the Olivers. About $23.00 for coupler and tip in IA.
