HI, I have a clutch on my 1650 d that I think is "grabbing" too near the top to suit me- when the clutch was younger it would grab near the bottom.

Today the clutch has over 9500 hrs on it, but its still in very good cond- and I'd like to keep it that way..... .

The manual (yes I have one :D) states that adjusting the clutch free-pedal travel is the thing to do, but it really doesn't seem to fix the problem.
I looked into the clutch viewing plate and there seem to be a couple bolts that look as if they could possibly be used to "tighten up the clutch"??

Well, anyway thanks for responding, all of you who (i hope :D) will respond

Paul

J. Schwiebert is correct. About all you can do is adjust the free pedal travel a little by turning the clevis on the clutch pedal linkage. If the tractor has 9500 hours on the clutch, I think its time to pull the motor and put in a new clutch. If you need help, I have put in three clutches in the last month- one on a 1650 gas Oliver, one on a 1655 Diesel, and one on a 2-70 white. They get easier everytime you do one. If you've never done one its going to take you a little longer.

O. K. As the clutch facing wear the clutch takes hold later. There is no adjustment for that on a spring loaded push type clutch. It will be time to change the clutch. I think the ones you are refering too and there are three of them set the release lever height.
