I recently bought a farm in michigan and need to cut about 6 acres of pasture, 3 acres of barn lots, and plow about 150' of driveway. A friend of mine has a 1957 Oliver 770 with a narrow front end, hydralic bucket in the front, and a hydralic draw bar. He is asking 1400.00 for the outfit. The tractor doesn't smoke, and appears to be in good working order. I want to use this tractor too work with on my farm. Any thoughts as to wether or not this is a good deal. Are these tractors prone to any problems I should be aware of or check out before I buy. Any information that you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Buy it!

If everything is working its a steal. A very dependable unit that you'll never regret purchasing. Run it through all the gears, including the high & low range if it has the power booster shift. If everything works, BUY IT!
