88 oil problem

my 88 has very low oil pressure. when i start it up it takes a long time before it shows anything. when it does show oil pressure it is good for a while then goes back down. i just change the iol it helped a little bit but didn't do much just woundering what it could be thanks

It could be as simple as a bad gauge or a lost restrictor disk on the filter stem or worst case worn out main bearings. How about putting an accurate gauge with numbers on it and telling us what the oil pressure is warm, . cold, at rated speed and at idle.
