I am getting Blue smoke unless I'M under load. I know the most common problem associated w/this would be a bad ring (s). Just looking for others input ???

Since you say the problem goes away when you have the engine warm or are working it, I would suspect incomplete combustion, In other words not enough heat is generated to burn all the fuel. How is your thermostat? If you are in a cold climate, shutters may help. Remember a diesel is a heat engine, cold weather and light loads are stealing heat resulting in incomplete combustion.

My 310 diesel 1755 Cockshutt does the same thing. Warm or cold (bust mostly cold), I get some blue smoke at idle, but none with higher RPM or when working. Any thoughts appreciated as to why this is occurring. Thanks.

Check your turbo seals (if it has one) by pulling off your air intake hose and look for oil on the inside. Just a thought. Good luck.
