I am wanting the front frame for a Super 55.
This also supports the radiator and the front
motor mounts. Anyone have one?

Anyone wish to comment on how weak this piece is?
I broke mine, but I can't believe other people
haven't had problems with this.

SN 6000-46000 takes a different part than does SN 46001- (same as a 550).
I have a late style that I would let go.

Okay. The spec # on my tractor is: 15-0007.
The serial # is: 7 870-518.

So I assume that the late frame you have will not
fit the early frame that i need, correct?

The only difference is in the bolting of the radator support bracket - if you use the new style you will have to drill and tap two holes to bolt the support bracket for the radator - not a big deal if you are handy at all. Just use the old to get the measurements for the location of the new holes.

Where are you located - shipping on the darn thing may be big item. I'am in west central michigan - as I said I have a late style laying in my "bone yard" that is off a 550 - same part as the late style s55 frame - that I would let go at a very fair price! Let me know if you are interested and I will check it out - I know that the axel is still attached but can remove that(I hope).

that guy on ebay had the frame for sale too. Just
wonder for how much? I didn't get the auction #
But I was looking for the heck of it. HOw did you
break it? I even had a loader on mine for some
years and never hurt it.

It was the weirdest thing I've ever seen. To make
a long story short: I bought it on a sale with no
front spindles. The frame was sitting on a cinder block about 10 inches off the ground. To pull it on the trailer I put a 6 inch wooden pallet underneath it. When the winch started to pull the tractor off the cinder block the frame dropped about 4 inches from the cinder block to the wooden pallet. PLUS, the pallet was on soft ground. There would have been much more of an impact driving on a bumpy field. Anyway, when it dropped the four inches, both sides of the frame broke right in front of the motor mount. And it was a fresh break also, there is no rust or corrosion where it broke.
That's why I was wondering if the frames are weak on these tractors because there was such a small
impact.

Probally the fact the load is suppose to be carried by the axle and center pin. when it dropped probally hit right out front on the rectangular area causing it to fold (break) in the middle. Funny how castings are designed to be
quite strong in their intended function but fail
easily when loaded differently.

There is a guy selling a bunch of Super 55 parts on ebay. He says to contact him for parts not listed. He may have what you need.
