If the 428 Had a 6.6 compression ratio, isnt that kind of low, i know in the 542 they boosted the compression to 10.3 to 1 then every second year we blew a head gasket.. If you shaved the head on a 428 like 20 tho and bring the compression to 8 or 9 that would be a better engine and more power and you wouldent have the head gasket trouble plus the engien would be more snapy

The 251 cubic inch engine was also used in the 525 Oliver & Cockshutt machines as well as in the 2890 Moline which is the same as a green or red 525

Spuds,
The Cockshutt 428 SP combine uses a H.D.Chrysler 6 cylinder 250.6 cu. in. gas engine. 3 7/16 bore and 4.50 stroke. 6.6 compression ratio. If interested the Cockshutt 427 SP combine uses a 236.6 cu. in Chrysler engine.
Please let me know when I can assist you further.

Chrysler Industrial. I am not sure of the displacement and no doubt the engine was built in Canada which makes it different than the American built engine. The very last 535 models had an American engine.
