OC4 won't start

I have an 1957 Oliver OC4 four cylinder gas crawler model OC4-42-G and serial number 2TG-276. I just rebuilt the engine and put new electrical wires on it (one wire at a time). It started long enough to load from my trailer to my garage and hasn't started since. I know the timing is correct from the SPK mark on the flywheel to number 1 plug on the cap with the firing order 1-2-4-3. I know the magneto works, because I've shocked myself on the plug wires and checked for spark by taking out the plug and holding it to ground while I crank over the motor. I also made a new carburator gasket and cleaned out the carburetor. What am I doing wrong? Why won't it fire up? How do I check to make sure the carburetor is getting gas to the plugs? Fuel pumps good to the carburetor, but from there how do I check that the mixture is correct and getting to the plugs properly? Where can I get a good replacement carb if this is the problem?

Thanks.

First of all, what engine do you have? I've got a couple of HGs, OC3, and an early 1957 OC4. HGs and OC3 have four cyliner Hercules with magneto igntion, but the OC4 has a three cylinder Hercules with distributor igntion. Is your engine a four cylinder IXB3?

The first OC-4 crawlers have the IXB. Later ones have the DD & GO three cylinder versions

First off it it hand start of does it have a starter. If it has a starte pour a little gas in to the carb and crank it if it trys to start its your carb, you can also use starting fluid to do the same thing. As far as parts have you tried Zimmermans 717-738-2573. You can also hold you hand over the carb intake and see if it sucks your hand in some and also to see if its getting gas if you do that your hand should be wet from gas.

See whether the plugs are wet after cranking the engine. If they are dry, probably carb jet blocked, if fuel is still getting into the carb.
Is your new carb gasket just too wide, stopping the float from dropping? I have suffered from that problem in the past.
