definately my 77RC. Its not that heavy to pull around to shows. It has enough power to pull when I want to and it sure is handy to use around here!

I think you are a little confused like most JD fans. The question here was your favorite Oliver tractor, not favorite tractor (ie. any brand). The desire to continue to interupt the good nature of the people on this discussion group just show the ignorance of you and the others who continue have an inferiority complex with the Oliver. Well I guess if you feel that you are threatened by the Oliver, a tractor that has not been made for 25 years than I guess we will have to deal with your fear. By the way, how does it feel to feel inferior to Olivers.

About the only thing I can think of that is inferior to an oliver, is a Belarus.

Ah, so you do think? Let me help your faulted thought process a bit. If you would like us to explain why Oliver was and is the king of tractors, leave your name and email and we'll talk about the facts. But, if you're content to keep hiding behind little anonymous posts that help you with your inferiority complex with Olivers, then leave us alone and seek professional help with those other poor misguided souls on the JD board. You can all lick your wounds together.

At least you can still buy a new one. Oh the pleasure of not having to worry about parts.

By the way, when was the last time you drove a new Oliver? I drove a new Deere a couple weeks ago, and may buy one.

That's good you can still get a new Deere because if you have an old one you need a new one. Oliver people don't worry about parts. If you have an Oliver you don't need parts. It is funny a Deere lover is so concerned about parts. But then Deere lovers buy a lot of parts.

Its about 175 miles to the closest AGCO dealer for me, about 50 miles for a Deere dealer.

And I like to restore old JDs, so yes i buy some parts. But I dont have any problems with the tractors I farm with.

I doubt if he/she or whatever can find the JD discussion, that is why they have to post on the Oliver board.
Sorry about prolonging this. We really should just ignore the JD postings.

Don't get too worried about it Bill. Anyone who has gone their entire life with the "pay more to get less" mentality of the run-of-the-mill faded green tractor lover can't easily be brought back to reality...

The big dog. An Oliver Super 99 GM. The most powerful tractor made in it's day. Plus the two stroke deisel engine is amazing. Also makes a good pulling tractor. But, if you are on a buget and you only own a half ton pickup to hual it with I would say forget the Super 99. You are on the right track though as long as get an Oliver. It is not important what a bunch of boneheads on the web think. It will be your tractor. If no certain model of Oliver has made an impression on you yet then go to some shows. See them and hear them run. If you can drive them. Read up. Either that or buy the one you get the best deal on.

There are a lot of things to consider. What would you do with this when you are done, and how much do you want to spend? What is available locally?

My grandfather had a RC66, so they are my personal favorites. RC88's are plentiful, powerful, and cheap. RC77's are handy for hobby farming. 55's are maybe even better for hobby farming. For parades and stuff, an older model is neater but more expensive.
