Went and picked up the new addition today. A 88. It was all there too!! Had the curtains!! The engine is stuck,, I am going to rebuild it, but would like more power from it,, I am looking at a set of 99 gas pistons,, I belive it is 4 inch bore. Anyone have a set they would like to get rid of? Anyway,, Dad spent this afternood removing the brakes they were rusted solid. But got them apart. Looking for parts!!! Brake covers, bands, intake and exhaust manifold, all the stuff a person would have to replace after a tractor has been sitting for 10 years. This is my first 88, I like it already!! Any information about parts (new and used) would be greatly apprciated.. I bought, yet another 77 rear end yesterday, So, now over the weekend I bought 4 Oliver tractors!! I smell a trend, maybe!! LOL, Would trade 77 and super 77 parts for 88 parts. Thank you in advance,, Chad

I would guess you want to bore the sleeves to 4 inch. The last one I seen had 4010 or EARLY 4020 gas pistons. They are also 4 inch with an 1/250 pin and the right compression distance.

Yes, I would like to bore the sleeves to 4 in. Can the sleeves go out that big, and still be ok? Do I have to modify the 4020 pistons to fit?

Yes the sleeves can go that big. However, you must be sure they are not pitted on the outside or they will be too thin in spots. I have a few 1650 sleeves that were bored to 4 inch for use with Ross racing pistons in an 88.

Hey Chads, Find me a 4 digit Oliver that needs restoring. You are not really looking for them and yet you seem to fall over them. I am looking but not finding.
