I have what I think is an oliver #3 one horse corn drill made in the 30's. I was wondering if anyone had pictures of some old Oliver horse drawn corn planters to compare mine to. Also is there a website that has information on these? An help would be appreciated. May be interested in parts also. Thanks

I have an Oliver planter however I think it is a late 40's model. It is stored on the farm 100 miles from me. When I go up in a few weeks I will make pics and place them on this forum.

You have a good looking planter however the fertilizer distributing components will be extremely difficult to find since fertilizer takes a toll on metal parts. My grandad sold several of these and I will look around the place to see if we have a fert. box but don't get your hopes up.

I am 55 so I came along after most of the mule and horse equipment sales. From memory which may not be accurate I beleive the handles, frame and large wheel were red, the boxes green and each box was labeled Oliver Superior in yellow. For that particular planter I can only remember my grandad selling it with both the boxes. Hopes this helps.

My grandpa and I stripped the planter down this morning and got it ready to paint. We plan on painting it tomorrow. Do you remember what colors it is supposed to be. Most of the frame had a little red paint under the rust and the planter box had green paint I believe. The handles were painted completely red. Is this how you remember them? Also do you think the fertilizer box may have been an option? I have seen a few pictures and some of them didn't have any of the fertilizer parts still attached. Thanks for all of your help and info. I really appreciate it.
