Although I know that in real use you can't always go by the ratings I am curious at the HP ratings of the 1500-1900 and the 50 series as well. I have a book that shows the ratings of the 1800 and 1900 but non of the others. Recently bought a Oliver252 disc and was kinda wanting areal green tractor to pull it with instead of these Deeres around here. I was told that a 60 hP tractor at least would be best but I am not sure what sizes that would be.

My son told me about the local dealer having and Oliver 76? grain drill. Hummmm now if I just had a reason to drill grain... Could make up something right??? :)

Thanks!

The Cockshutt 1950 105 PTO H.p, 1850 about 92 PTO H.p, 1750 80 PTO H.p, 1650 66 PTO H.p 1550 53 PTO H.p 1350 44 PTO H.p 1250 38.5 PTO H.p for that oliver 252 Disc id go with a 1750 if you had a need for speed but a 1650 would do to the 1750 had the wakashaw engine with a sleeve droping problem but if I can remeber you could fix that problem the 1650 was a great tractor we had one on our farm the last year when my grandfather died he left a crop of fall rye on we used the 1650 to run the 28 foot macdon swather going up a hill you could really work that 1650 (with a full swath) that year the crop varied from 45-75 bushals to the acre and the home quarter ran about 80-90 to the acre made the old 542 cockshut and the White 5542 work hard... id go with the 1750 or even the 1855 with the 354 Perkins...

The 1900 horsepower listed is for the "A" model. The l;ater "B" and "C" versions carried a 100 hp rating. This is due to an incease in engine rpm and a four valve instead of the two valve head on the 4-53 Detroit Diesel engine used in all three models.

Shoot Jeff if I had your wallet I would go to Iowa and get that 1855.You would look good operating that machine and that would yank the tongue out of your disc.Jack
