I'm not familiar with the Oliver farm tractors and I was wondering what the most popular Oliver farm model was? I realize everyone has his/her favorite(s) but I'm looking for the the model that stands out and represents the Oliver line. Kind of like the IH Cub Cadet original model garden tractor "represents" the IH Cub Cadet garden tractor line. Its been suggested to me that the 66 and 77? row crop tractors were the most popular. Let me know and thanks!

In its time , I would have to say the "70".

I agree with Terry, the most popular was the styled 70, built from '37 to '48. The introduction of the Oliver Hart Parr 70 in 1935 pretty much set the standard for styling, the styled 70in 1937/ '38 looked like a race car compared to the competition. They sold a ton of them.

Like the others I see more 77's here in Missouri than the others. I have a 550 and ran a 60 and a 77 as a teenager. My preference is the 550; GOOD looks, most of the features for convience and handy as the pocket on your shirt. Also, (since my teenagers are operating it now) safety, you get on and off in front of the rear tires and away from the pto. The clean deck is nice too, no shift lever to hook your pants leg on.

I know that the 77s abd 88s were very popular tractors, and rightfully so. But as for production numbers, there were far more 70s built than any other Oliver model.

Go to www.tractorpics.com and post it there under the Oliver photos and then link the page to the fourm. Thats how I do it most of the time. See if you can make that work, we love seeing pictures.

Mike, even though I don't have one, I'd say the 77 was the most popular Oliver. Myself, I like the 88's. oleblu

I also agree that the 77 probably was the most popular. We owned a 66, 77 and 88 and the 88 was one more good tractor. I think the 550 stands out because it had one of the longest production runs from 1958-1975.

I agree that the 77 was popular and is one of my favorites but the 550 was probably the most popular with such a long production run. The 1650 was also a very popular tractor in my area.
