I have a White backhoe - loader. The plate on the side of the tractor says it is a model 415-71082. The serial number is 214 082-484. When I looked at the pictures in the photo gallery I couldn't help but notice a striking resemblance to the Oliver 550. If you have any info I would sure appreciate it. (ex: is it actually a 550, what year, what manual would I want to use, any useful web sites or publications, you get the idea). Thank You

Super 55 is correct, it is the industdrial verision of the 550 Oliver tractor. Your tractor was built early in 1969, probably late January or early Feb. The numbers tell us that it was built with a industrial front axle and a gasoline engine. Oliver had been owned by White Motor Corporation since 1961. The industrial products changed over to the White name prior to the agricultural tractors. Industrial literature shows them as White-Oliver as early as 1967. The Oliver name was dropped in the late 60's on the industrial equipment.

Thanks for the great information. I started looking in several aftermarket catalogs and noticed that they often listed parts for equipment based on serial numbers. Do you have the equivalent Oliver serial number or know of some way to determine one for my White?
Thank You

Well, I'm trying to get used to using my Oliver Gang Serial number cards and it looks like a 1969 550. One the seasoned veterans will correct me or agree I'm sure.

White made a industrial version of the 550 called a 2-44. It sounds like you could have one these.
