I just replaced the fan pulley on a 1955 Super 55 diesel. I noticed the crank pulley, and the generator pulley line up, but the fan pulley needs to come forward. Is this normal? If you have a Super 55 could you check and see how yours lines up and get back to me?

Bob - the gentleman might be right in that the fan pulley hub may be pressed on to the shaft too far.
Looking at the parts book the pulley can only go on one way and everything else is of set lenght - but the hub is pressed on and could be on too far. The ? is how much yours is out of alinement - a small amount could be in the pressing of the hub - but a large amount is something else.

It is possible that the pulley was pressed onto the shaft too far and needs to be pulled out on the shaft.

John H. That won't do any good. Here's what I have on my Oliver Super 55 diesel. If you go from back to front in order of assembly I have the water pump flange, the fan pulley(which mounts to on the flange with no adjustment) a big spacer bar, then the fan, and finally four really long bolts that hold the whole thing together. It's the fan pulley that is too far to the rear.

Is it possible to put your spacer bar on the hub first then put the pulley on . This would bring the fan forward the thickness of the spacer bar. If that will not work I would probably make some sort of shim to put in there to get the pulley in the right place.

Goog Luck
