I am looking at an old Oliver tractor and have the serial number but don't know for sure which model it is as there are no decals on it. The tractor is Oliver green and yellow and has red wheels and it has a 6 cyl. diesel engine. The specification number is: 18-1653 and the serial number is: 26 733-804. Can anyone out there tell me which model of Oliver this is? As you probably gathered I don't know much about Olivers yet! Thanks for any response!!

Your tractor is a Super 88 Row Crop that was built in 1955. It was equipped at the factory with the special low speed drive train.

As Oliver usto say Olivers are for the tough pull yes they are good they will out pull most tractors HP forHP The super 88 diesel is rated at 54HP but will pull more like a 65HP tractor. you should look at this site olivertractor.com Larry has a lot of good info there

Is there a place on the internet where I can look up this information myself? I would like to find out more about Oliver tractors. Thanks!

Do these tractors have a reputation as being good or bad? What other kind of feedback can you give me on them?

You're on the Oliver board, Jim- so they are without a doubt the best tractors ever built! "But seriously, folks,"- They do have a good reputation for durability, and many are still going strong. Strong points are the independent PTO (power take off doesn't stop when you put in the clutch), "6 and 2" transmission, smooth 6 cylinder engine, and strong drivetrain.
