I have found a 560 diesel tractor for sale. It is said to run, but I have not heard it. The sheet metal is very rusted, but no big holes. My dad had several Cockshutt tractors and we once had a 560. I guess I would like to make an offer, but not sure what it is worth.
Thanks for any response.

I restored a 560D last winter. The engine had been o/h about 1000 hrs and 15 years b4. The tractor ran great, and just needed cosmetic work, plus odds and ends. Got it for free!! I stuck about $5K into that tractor(look in photo ads archive) advertised it for about 6 months. Finally sold it to a guy for $3500.00 with a 3 bottom IH plow included. Sometimes I wish I had kept it, it looked and ran great, but couldn't get any $ for it. The 560 diesels are good tractors, the gas models like to burn valves on a regular basis. Good luck, Larry

You must have been talking about a 560 International not a 560 Cockshutt since there were no gas models.

The Perkins motor is expensive to work on and some parts are hard to get. depending on year it will have a L-4 or a 4-270 which is the better of the 2. We've had a couple around that were parted out because the motor was bad. Non running if complete up to $1000 running with little smoke and no knocks in motor maybe $1800 but thats top end. Usuall problems are bad cranks, block, or busted pistons if eithered to much. Injection pump about $900 to rebuild. good luck Irv

parts, bits and pieces getting harder to find every year so you may have to do some junk yardin'. many common pieces with the 570 and 570Super. Perkins diesel only in the 560. doesn't seem to be a huge amount of collector interest so don't expect to make a fortune on it. how do you intend to use it? parades/shows or heavy field use?
my upper limit is $750 US. no lower limit...I have been known to drag project tractors out of fence corners if they are free.
good luck, lemme know if i can help

I would just like to restore and use in parades, shows and just have.. Is there a better choice??
I have farmed all my life and for the past 33 years work for a major factory near by and just retired. Looking of something to do between farming seasons...
