The cast wide front was introduced in 1947 with the Oliver 88 (old style). Oliver soon discontinued the cast front as it was'nt very strong and many broke.
My 1949 88RC has a cast wide front, but I have only seen one other one.

Hi Mike , I have my neighbors "880" in my barn. He bought it off the internet. It too has a cast iron front end. It measures up the same as the front end on my "770" , but the tires and rims are much smaller. So , maybe his front end came off a "77" or "88". I didn't know if it was after market or what. It doesn't look after market , if you know what I mean.

This front adjustable axle was used on the early 77 & 88 tractors, from 1947 to mid 1950 production. They are not common, however, I don't know if you would call them rare.
