I can still buy a new green tractor that should tell you what green is the best. If that dull green was any good they would still be building them today and JOHN DEERE (BRIGHT GREEN) would be in JUNK ROLL. Farmer kept the best alive.

I'm a long time JD fanatic, but I think the new
ones aren't worth a pinch of coon-sh!!?!?!?!Leave
the Oliver guys to their board and maybe they'll
respect ours. Can't we all get along?

Couple years ago the missus and me happened to take in a local antique (classic or whatever) tractor pull. In their weight class the Oliver 88's thundered past all comers. It was like going to a drag race and counting Chevies. As a Massey person it was a pretty lonely time, but I didn't see too many other shades of green around either. Say what you will about them, they had in line sixes, live PTO and (for the time) lots of power when those other people were still popping off. As far as Deere winning out in the end, they had the money to redesign everything at once by 1960 and they did. And too, P.T. Barnum was right.

If John Deere aren't worth !!?!. Tell me why the tractor that is worth !!??!!! is no longer being built. I don't see many new Olivers do you. They started it with the 3020.

If you had taken the time to actually read my posting, you would have picked up on the fact that
I'm a long time JD fanatic. Loyalty is one thing,
but blind loyalty is just plain stupiid. I don't
think JD has built a good tractor since the 55
series. I've tried the new ones, oh how I've tried. I'd make more money farming with , yes, even old Olivers than I would with over-priced
new JDs. They might bring good money at my auction
but it'll be paying for them that'll put me in that situation to begin with!

I seen your a JD fanatic but saying that JD is the cause of all the farm problems is stupid. If your running a 55 series JD hasn't broke you yet, I'm sill on the 40 series. I like to see you farm with the old Olivers after sitting in the cab of a 55 series and see how long you farm with them before you sale. Yes JD are to high for what we are getting for are crops. The city labor is were the problem is at. When a man can go to work in town and get $50.00 an hour he over payed and that where the problem come in, from the iron worker to the factory worker putting the tractors together. Then you have people running down the ONLY tractor company that has made it though hard times and are still going without a sale out to some bigger company. Come now people give the big over priced green tractor a pat on the back. I'm done with this board if they are done with JOHN DEERE it's just the only tractor that is still living.

If you had learned to read, without your green contact lenses, you'd understand my posting. I'm
not having farm problems, but I would be if I was stupid enough to take a beating on trade in allowance offered by the dealer, and start making
payments on a tractor(s) thats simply not worth
it. Did you paint your computer green too?
