Need a hand from all you 50 series hydraulic experts out there. A 1750 3pt. hitch system: the control lever always wants to creep back (toward rear of tractor) to cause the arms to lift. There seems to be some slight pressure forcing it back. Just started acting this way; it always has remained centered in the control where you place it. I have used the adjustable stop to hold it at the desired depth position, but even then it will want to creep past it and move back in the slot to lift the arms. Is this a control valve problem? Any details on how to fix? Would appreciate some experience.

There is a friction disc at the base of the lever to crate enough restistance to retain the lever's position. There is a adjustment nut working against a spring. Adjust the nut to have enough resistance to retain position without creating excessive effort to move the lever. The adjustment nut is positioned by a allen screw that will have to be loosened before attempting to adjust.
The control lever through linkage is only moving a sliding spool ( called a control spool). The spool has a spring attached to it. The spring is not that heavy, it's purpose is to take the slack out of the linkae.

I agree with b.a.,but I just add more friction discs without dissassembly.Normally the old disc( one on each side) break and fall out.So cut yourself 2 disc with a slot to slide over the shaft.Use screwdrivers to pry apart and slip your new disc in with a dab of JB weld on one side. This way it wont fall out.You can use old friction material or rubber from an inner tube.
