Our 2150 mfwa we just bought has different sheet metal on it than I've ever seen. It is like screens instead of solid. It looks factory but I have never seen it before. Like to know if it is or if we need to start hunting for metal for it.

MikeO and BA are correct. Those screen looking panels are supposed to be there. If you have ever pulled the 2150 or 2050 hard to tillage equipment on a warm day you will find out fast why they are like that. The big Hurk engine has a habit of getting HOT when worked. The reason is because it is not a cross flow head engine, the intake and exhaust manifolds are intertwined and the exhaust heat makes the intake hot and heats up the engine faster.

That is why you see a lot of the 2050 and 2150 tractors with streight pipes on them, to help get rid of the heat. One thing about it, when working ground in the fall with a 2150, you will never get cold. That engine will blow heat back on you all day and keep you warm. The Cummins doesnt do that..... ..

It's an update. I remember when the dealership sent out mechanics to make the update on my dad's 2150. It did look different at first.

The solid sheetmetal side panels were replaced in the first update. The pieces were installed by a factory crew that updated the tractors at each selling dealer. The air deflector at the back of the engine was also added. Later tractors were built this way.

i am also looking at buying a 2150, maybe you just bought the one i was looking at? :) the perforated look is the way it is supposed to be - probably for some more cooling of the engine as the Herc tends to run hot. just wait for ShepVA - he has a 2150and has helped me out a bunch on my decision (havent made it yet).
hope that helps.
