70RC paint details

What color were starters and generators painted on a 1940 70 RC? My starter appears to be an original green, yet some illustrations show black. I haven't scraped enough off the generator to tell what color it was. Again, an illustration shows black.

Are there any sources for some decent quality Ollie Green spray paint? I know NAPA sells gallons. Oh yeah, any cheaper sources than NAPA for quality paint in gallons? I can't remember the price now, but it was high.

I'd check with Lyle Dumont of Sigourney, IA for paint help. He is an expert! I know some guys will have a cow when they see this, but I've bought some paint at Farm & Fleet stores called Oliver green in spray cans that looks and works pretty well. It's not nearly as pricey as the NAPA stuff either. Good Luck!
