Had some good info from a prior post, so here's some more ?s. The Tractor I'm looking at is Coop E4, so I'm told. The only thing I know for sure is it's a Coop. Has w/frt, six speed trans, hyds, orginal tires, suppose to be in good useable shape, needs cleaned up and painted for sure. Since I'm into antique tractor rides, what are the ground speeds, especially in high? Also about what should I expect to pay for it here in Iowa. Thanks in advance for anymore input Max

Max,
I will add some speed changes to the good info. that Tim in NB provided on gear speeds:
Co-op E4/Cockshutt 40 up to tractor tub frame serial number 4680 in May 1951 have gear speed of 4th @ 5.2 MPH and slowed to 4.5 MPH after. The 6th gear was 12 MPH and slowed to 10.5 MPH on all tractors after the same serial number.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if I can assist further.

Not sure about the prices in Iowa, but I paid 1,700 Cdn for mine in excellent running condition with a good FEL and a complete parts tractor.

With standard tires, which is 6.00 X 16 front and 12 X 38 rears, for a Cockshutt 40 or Coop E4 the speeds are 1.6, 2.7, 3.7, 4.6, 6.3, 10.5. Reverse is 2.2 and 5 mph.
