I bought a 3 pt mounted 5 shank inline ripper to use behind one of my 2255 Olivers.Power isn't a problem,ButI'm having great difficulty keeping the front wheels safely on mother earth.I am wondering what would be the maximum number of 160 lb slab weights I can safely bolt to the front tub.I have eight on now,But have seen old photos of front wheel assist tractors with more. What is the most anybody has seen and worked O.K.

I saw a 1955 once that had several weights on the front. The fellow ran a cable from each side of the grille where a front cultivator would mount and down to the front of the weights. He used a turnbuckle to tighten the cable. A chain could work also. WB.

Many years ago I saw a 1950 2wd with 12 of the 160 lb flat weights on the front near Marshall, MN. Never heard that he had any problems with that.

Also, probably should use grade 8 bolts on the base weight and the first 4 or 5 flat weights.
