Is anyone familiar w/ an Oliver 500, 1970 model?? There is one listed for sale in 10/18/03 Sacramento Bee newpaper for $4,395.00. It comes w/ loader, pto and 3 pt hitch. Year is 1970. I am looking for a loader tractor to do landscape work w/ so the price sounded appealing...since I don't see this model listed under yt wedsite I am questioning the validity of this model/ and price.

The Oliver 500 was a David Brown (Case affiliate in England) in Oliver clothing. Parts are very difficult to find. It seems overpriced, based on what these tractors bring at auction. For that price, you should be able to find a loader tractor with better parts availability (such as my IH 504 diesel, which could be had for the same price).

Mike -Thats the info I was looking for! I am not familiar w/ David Brown, Inc. nor am I interested in a tractor that I can't find parts for. I need a very affordable loader w/ 3pt & pto, but no more head-aches. This guy sounds like he is trying to make money on it as his price is firm. What year is your IH ?
