I've got a "44 70 on full steel. The casting number is BC 705. Last winter I bought a set of tiptoe that are in excellent condition. The number on them is BA 705. they both measure out the same. Other than the support ring differance, I cant see anything else. Will these fit my '44 70, or my 36 HartParr 70? Thanx, Larry

In the old Oliver part numbering system, each part was assigned as number. In your case that number is 705. The Prefix letter designates the series of tractor, B being the letter assigned to the model 70 rowcrops. So the first part number was B-705. If an improvement was made and it replaced the current part a letter was added B-705 would be replaced by BA-705, H-705 would be a steel wheel for a 60 rowcrop since they were assigned the letter H. BB 705 would replace BA 705 and so on. If the letter is a sufix it affects the interchangability and now you have two seperate cuurent part numbers.Example K-196 would be an intake valve for an 88 gas k-196A would habve been for a diesel. This system was used until the mid 50's. Hope this helps.

I don't know about the numbers. On the wide ring wheels the outside spokes are rivited to the outside of the rim, the narrow ring wheels the spokes cross to the inside of the rim; the inside spokes are similar fashion. I have an early rowcrop 80 on tiptoe wheels, I believe the axels are different on the 70 and 80, although all 70 rowcrop axels are the same. Delbert
