Anybody know where I can lay hands on a decent, running 310 gas engine? I'd consider buying a complete tractor if the money was right. That means cheap in layman's terms.

If your near the east coast you can try Farmersville Equipment near Ephrata PA, 717-354-2150, they are a large Oliver boneyard and they may have an engine, but Im not sure how cheap it would be. I have gotten some good parts from there but have always payed every penny they were worth and then some.

In the midwest we have lots of tractor salvage yards. Check your local ag newspaper, phone book, ads at tractor shop/feed store, etc. These places buy old Olivers for salvage and sell parts off them. This is the cheapest way to get an engine but be careful. Unless you can hear the engine run, it might be very expensive to repair.
