Based on my experience with an Oliver 1555 , which is set up same as 1750-1850 from hydraulic reservoir/transmission standpoint , there are three ways you could be getting hydraulic fluid leaking into transmission . As far as I know , only way to check is to take top ( part under the seat which includes gear shift ) off the tractor . Three things it could be are :

(1)Reservoir pan which holds hydraulic fluid has hole in it . Remove top , fill pan with gasoline or some other light fluid and set over bucket and see if it leaks .

(2) Gaskets which go on top and underneath hydraulic reservoir pan have gone bad and are leaking . There is an area between bell shaped cover or housing for hydraulic filter and gear shift where gasket could go bad and let fluid leak from hydraulic reservoir into transmission without you seeing leaking fluid on outside . Difficult to test this since removing top usually tears up gaskets anyway .

(3) Front seal on hydraulic pump has gone bad letting fluid go up through pump from reservoir and leak from front of pump down into transmission . My problem on 1555 was here and I was able to get a pump seal kit from AGCO and get pump rebuilt by local hydraulics shop . Cost about $100 not including gaskets to reseal the top and new hydraulic fluid and filter . If pump is bad and cannot be fixed simply by replacing seals you are talking big money for new pump . How is it steering and how are hydraulics working otherwise ? Fact three point hitch arms will not lift causes me to worry may have a bad pump but others may say different .

Both of these problems could occur with no hydraulic fluid . However , assuming you have full hydraulic fluid and given the fact you are losing fluid into transmission and essentially have no hydraulics , I would say you have a bad hydraulic pump with front seal on pump gone bad . On my 1555 , the front seal on the pump was leaking but I still had power steering and hydraulics . I just kept losing fluid into the transmission . Your problem appears to be more significant since , with full fluid , you are not getting any fluid circulating through the system . There are other explanations for no fluid circulating ( splines on drive shaft gone bad , bad valve etc) but when combined with fluid leaking into transmission that indicates to me some problem with hydraulic pump at least at the front seal . The leak may be so bad the pump cannot build up pressure to circulate the fluid .

Someone else may have a different opinion or other suggestions .

There's a seal between the hydraulic unit and T/FD that's leaking. You'll need a service manual to pull the units apart.

Be sure to not operate the tractor until it's fixed and to replace the gear oil when fixed. Hydraulic fluid won't properly lubricate the gears in the T/FD.

You might want to search the archives. A post within the last month or so covered this in excellent detail.
