Thanx a ton to all the guys that responded to my weak 3 gear post. I won't know what I'll need till I get into it, but I'd like to know a source or two for parts. Also have 2 5 gear engines that I need parts and gaskets for.
Thanx again, this is a great site with great people on it! Larry

Larry, I can try to help you on both 3 and 5 gear used parts, gaskets I don't have. Ollie is right if you plan on farming with the tractor, but alot of 70's will run just fine for antique purposes with 25 or even 30 pounds variation in the compression. You could buy alot of plugs twice a year for the cost of a rebuild. ten percent or 10 or 12 pounds variation is good to get on a rebuilt 70. The older low compression engines are not as percise as is a super or 3, or 4 digit engine, These are continentals and a little more forgiving.
