I was working on overhauling the engine on my 1750 today & after I put the pistons in found #1 was about 1/8 inch above the top of the liner. Pulled the piston & it is taller from the pin to dome than the old ones. Can I reuse the con rod washers again? I'm going to clean up a old piston & reassemble with that. btw I bought a genuine agco overhaul kit for this job.

Are you working on a gas engine? It could be you have diesel pistons. I was given gas piston on my 1750 and they were to short. just a thought

It is a diesel. I'm just a little upset with Agco as this is the 3rd time they have goofed up parts for a major rebuild. This sets me weeks since i have very little spare time to work on this. This tractor has been down since january & I really want it this fall.

It sounds like someone gave you a set of pistons for a 283. agco is not the answer for all waukesha overhaul parts. while we are an agco dealer we still depend on waukesha for many overhaul parts. call us at 1-800-808-9934

Look in the archives at (1855 bad motor) and read the post by WFE, he gives all the information for a proper rebuild on the 310
